In Conference Semi-Final action Saturday night the JV Hamilton Ironmen travelled to Cambridge to take on the Lions. It was do-or-die for each team as this was shaping up to be a great matchup of two powerhouse squads. Cambridge opened up the game with their powerhouse backfield and attempted to run the ball. But Hamilton’s defense bent but did not break as they forced the Lions to punt. With Hamilton’s offense struggling to put points up on the board early, Cambridge’s offense began to gain momentum and go up 7-0 before a 45-minute rain delay. After the lightning and rain dispersed, Cambridge added 10 more points. But in the 3rd quarter Hamilton’s offense woke up and began the comeback as they crawled back and made it a 17-14 game. However, on the ensuing kickoff Cambridge ran it back for a score and did not look back. Cambridge ended the game victorious 37-22. Head Coach Ken McGuire would like to thank and wish his graduating 16-year-old players good luck in the future: Liam Putt, Stefan Sarabura, Mackenzie Sajder, Angelo Delsordo, Dezain Brooks, Donta Smith, Brandan Gamble, Ian Swann, Xavier Martinez, Sean McMillan, Angus Button, Bradley Mclean, Anthony Laughing, Eric Stevens, James Medeiros, Jonathan Rebelo, Reilly Ashford, Benjamin Pascoe, Frankie Bozzo, Zachary Polianskas, Paul Connor, Devin Landry, Fouad Sadik, Keanu Villareal, Charlie Taggart, Marc Fournier, Jake Williams, Billy Olds, and Stefan Olivieri. Ken McGuire would also like to thank his coaching staff for their hard work and the supportive parents who remained positive throughout the year.
