Here we go, fearless readers! From Day One, Sauga has had a return to the Big Show on their minds. Pickering's JV team kind of flies under the radar in Dolphin-land, but they've been a force to be reckoned with since Game 1 as well. So no big playoff upsets in 2012, and the best team in each conference meet in this one. I say Sauga pulls off a historic repeat. Sauga's front 7 will play aggressively to contain Provo, and the Pickering QB will need to make plays with his arm to move the ball. Sauga's O is one of the strongest at JV seen in a while, and their balanced attack will prove to be too much for the Pickering D. I know that an upset here would be a great story, but I just don't see it. Haters gon' hate, but Sauga will pull off the repeat in 2012

What do you know about your opponent?:

We know that they haven't lost in a couple of years. We know that they earned the favorite status. We know that they are extremely athletic and well coached.  In fact this truly a case of David vs Goliath.

 

Special considerations when preparing for opponent?:

They pose a unique and difficult challenge  for the first time this season. We have had to practice four times this week. We have not seen this type of speed prior to this game.

 

Feeling of the team coming into your game?:

 

 

Injuries?:
Only key injury is to our startIng left guard Cameron Fryer but his replacement has played exceptionally well in both playoff games for us.

 

Expect big games from?: 
We will need a big game from everyone if we are to have the smallest chance of earning a narrow victory. Our coaching staff will need to be sharp and on their toes if we have any hope of keeping the score close.

What do you know about your opponent?:

Pickering has a long history of success in football.  I remember playing against them when I was 12 years old back in the 70's.  None of the kids on our team have ever played Pickering.  All we know is what we have been able see from game film.  They are an exciting team with big play potential on offence and defence.

 

Special considerations when preparing for opponent?:

We have not faced a team like Pickering this season.  We have a lot to cover off in one week of practice. 

 

Feeling of the team coming into your game?:

The team expects the Championship game to be a battle.  Our team takes nothing for granted and knows that the Champion of the Wettges Division is a very good team.  Their big win in the conference final shows they are peaking at the right time.

 

Injuries?:

We should be back to almost 100% healthy this week.  All of our players want to play in this game.

 

Expect big games from?:

Consistent with the season to date we need our defence to play well.  We hope our front 7 are able to contain Pickering's very athletic QB.  We are hoping our offence can get off to a quick start in this game as it could be a shoot out.
