The Myers Riders Football Club was established in 1974, adopting the colour of their namestakes, the Ottawa Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League: Black, Red and White  Over the years, the Riders have acquired a heathy reputation of providing a first rate program for young people who wish to play the game for recreational purposes, as well as those individuals who might aspire to play the Junior, University or Professional level.  The Riders joined the OVFL with their Senior team in 2001.  In 2002 a Junior team was fielded in the OVFL. This team went on to win the Championship in 2003. Then in 2008 a Bantam team fielded in the OVFL. This team went on to win the Championship in 2009 while making three appearances in four years.
